I’ve been fixing computers unofficially for over 15 years. In 2016 while still living in California I started a computer repair business. When I moved to Florida about 3 years later, I started Pasco PC Fix. I’m also currently working on receiving a Bachelors degree for Computer Science and the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate.
I work with small and medium-sized businesses, as well as residential clients.
I had a customer who needed help running a program on a Windows 10 PC that would only run on Windows 95. It took a week of research, and I ended up finding a solution using a virtual machine, a 20 year old program that reduces your CPU’s core speed, and some very unusual code. That was a fun and interesting research session 🙂
Talk to the repair technician on the phone and see if you get a good sense about whether they really care about solving the core issues.
Try to condense the problem into a sentence or two that you’re able to type into google and get relevant results. This will make it much easier to discuss once you’re on the phone with the repair technician.
